Lunch today is a cheese quesadilla.

Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in playing volleyball needs to sign up during their PE time this week, and make sure that you have a current physical on file. Tryouts will begin Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1st with 8th grade from 6:30-8:00am and 7th grade 3:15-5:00 both days. All basketball girls need to see Coach Horner before their tryout date.

Great job all chorus and band members on the fruit and cheesecake sale! Top sellers will be released at a later date. Letters will be sent home for sign up for the THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3RD delivery at the school. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP THAT NIGHT BEFORE 7:00 PM - nothing can be stored. We will need your help and your parents help for this project so return the sign up sheet by Wed. November 25th. Any staff members can pick up their order that day as well unless other arrangements for delivery have been made. Music Boosters thanks you all for a great fundraiser and looks forward to a great delivery day! Anyone interested in helping with the delivery let Miss Trotter or Mrs. Markle know - no one will be turned away!

A reminder to all students about recess and coats. Students need to be bringing their coats and sweatshirts for outside. It is too cold to be outside without a coat or sweatshirt. Underarmour, the long sleeve t-shirt brand, does not count as a coat or sweatshirt.

Pep band will perform tomorrow night at the home basketball game. Band members should meet in the band room at 5:30. Wear your band shirt.

This afternoon is the pie throwing extravaganza. Teachers, you were sent a dismissal order last week on email. Students will be dismissed from the New Gym after the event to head to buses and the cars.

Reminder that Wednesday is a regular school attendance day until 3:00-3:05. There is no early dismissal. However, Thursday and Friday are days off to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

The 8th grade boy's basketball team defeated Dee-Mack last night 55-33 in a very hard fought game. Alex led all scores with 19, while Austin had 14 points. Practice tonight after school.

The following students need to see Mrs. Markle immediately this morning (she will not be here this afternoon): Kara, Matt, Heidi, Liz, Michael, Luke, Travis, Isaiah, and Kelsie.

Mrs. Tyler would like to announce that AJ is the winner of the Tortilla Chip # in the jar. The total amount of tortilla chips in the jar was 181. AJ’s guess was 178. AJ, please see Mrs. Tyler after announcements for your prize. Congratulations.

Also, the Jr. High winners of lunch with Mrs. Marshall, from the book fair are Amira, Audrey, Gill, Luke, Ashlyn, and Rachel. Mrs. Marshall will have a letter for you to take home today.

Friday night the MGS Speech Team participated in their 2009 State Speech Contest at Germantown Middle School. The Speech Team ended the night with 49 first place medals, 22 second places ribbons, and 7 third place ribbons. Way to go Birds with the Words! The students did a fantastic job and represented MGS well! The Speech Team would like to thank all of the
volunteer coaches who made their success possible! Speech Team members: Do not forget about Parent's Night scheduled for next Monday, Nov. 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Frisk Gym. Awards will be distributed at that time. Mark your calendars!

A reminder to all Jr. High students, no shorts allowed at this point in the year. This does include capris, or the longer shorts. Your legs need to be covered. The weather is changing and it’s too cold to be wearing something without covering your legs.

Jr. High students, the homework coupon drawing boxes will be out through homeroom today. After homeroom, they will be brought into the office. I will draw today during lunch and announce the winners after lunch.

All speech team members need to check in with Mrs. Anglin @ 8th Hour Today! Thank You. Bring scripts with you.
