All Library books are due on Wednesday, May 19. Read for the World Record parent letters are being sent home. Ask your parents to help you sign up to keep track of your reading minutes this summer. Help make MGS the school with the most reading minutes.

Attention 7th grade students: There are still several crockpots and containers in Miss Reed's room. These must be taken care of today! Also, someone picked up the wrong container. Please check to see if you picked up a flower shaped salad bowl. Double check the name on it. If it is not yours please return it as soon as possible.

K-3..You are invited to a recorder assembly at 1:50 in the new gym today. If you would like to join us for the assembly please come down to the new gym at 1:45. 4th Grade..please come down to the gym at 1:40.

Congratulations to all sectional participants for a super effort on Saturday. We would like to wish the followimg athletes good luck as they have qualified for state this Friday and Saturday. Cal in pole vault, Gabby in hurdles and pole vault, Megan in hurdles, Delaney in hurdles, Abby in 400 and long jump, and the 8th grade 4 by 1 team consisting of Brooke, Kara, Abby, Ashleigh, Delaney. Congratulations to a great season for both boys and girls track team. State track participants, please stop by the Jr. High office to pick up your t-shirt order forms. They are due back to Mrs. Vogel tomorrow (Tuesday) before school starts to get them ordered on time!

Jr. High students – popsicles will be on the menu tomorrow so that our chorus friends can be a part of that.

After the completion of yesterday’s events in the Red versus Black Challenge, the results are in. The Red Team is this years winning team! All participants competed with determination through out the challenge and should be proud of their efforts.

Good luck to all sectional track participants as they compete tomorrow for their place at state.

Heading into the last day of the Red versus Black Challenge in Boys 4th through 8th grade PE classes, the Red Team has come back to tie the competition up 26 to 26. Good luck with your last day of competition today.

Just a reminder K-5 you are invited to a band assembly at 2:25 today. If you would like to join us please come down to the new gym at 2:20. Jr. High Teachers please dismiss 6-8 band members at 2:15 to set up for the assembly.

Chorus members: for those who have not done so, please turn in your T-shirt money. It is due tomorrow. Cash or coin MUST be in a marked envelope. Checks are made out to MGS Activity Fund and do not need an envelope. All Chorus music and folders MUST be turned in.

Jr. High students: tomorrow, popsicles will be sold at lunch to help raise money for our gift cards. Popsicles will be $1.

Score update for the Red versus Black Challenge in Boys 4th through 8th grade PE classes. After the second day of competition the Black Team is still clinging to a one point lead, 18 to 17. It looks as though this competition could come down to the sportsmanship and spirit points. Good luck to all participants.

Thank you Jr. High Chorus and Prep Chorus on a wonderful program last night. Proud of your great efforts and making singing fun!

The boys 4th through 8th grade PE classes began competition in the Red versus Black Challenge on Monday. After the first day of competition the Black Team is leading by only one point, 8 to 7. Participants need to remember the importance of the spirit and sportsmanship points.

Spring Choral Concert tonight at 7 p.m. In the new gym. Please wear your concert shirts and be here by 6:30 p.m. Have a great show singers!

Good luck to the jazz bands as they perform in the Twentieth Annual Arts in Education Spring Celebration in downtown Peoria today. Please dismiss band members at 10 this morning. Thank you!

Congratulations to Rachel and Margaret who will perform in the Peoria Cornstock production of Les Miserable this summer. Way to go Rachel and Margaret!

This week in Physical Education, boys 4th through 8th grade PE classes are competing in the Red versus Black Challenge. Each boy is placed on either the Red or Black Team and will compete in events all week to see which team can collect the most points. Announcements will be made through out the week updating the scores. Good luck to all participants.

Jazz Night was a huge success!! Congratulations to the jazz bands on your outstanding performances and to all of you who shared your talents with us! Thanks to all of you who helped make this night a success!

Spring Choral Concert is tomorrow night, at 7 p.m., featuring the 5th/6th gr Prep Chorus, Jr. High Chorus and Jr. High Festival Chorus. Please be here at 6:30.p.m. Wear your new Chorus T-shirts along with jeans, khakis, and shoes. NO jeans with holes or flip flops! Chorus members please remit T-shirt money for those who forgot last week.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Take a moment to tell your teacher how much you appreciate them and how hard they work for you. Many hours go into preparing a lesson for you to learn new things. Thank you to the student council for all of the treats in the lounges this week. The teacher’s really appreciate the goodies you have provided.

Good luck to the 4th grade recorders and 5th grade band on their Spring Concert tonight. Recorders should meet in their classrooms at 6:45 and band members should meet in the band room at 6:30. Jazz Band permission slips must be turned in to Miss Trotter by tomorrow.

Chorus members; please bring in your T-shirt money today and tomorrow, for those who haven't done so already. Cash must be in an envelope marked with your name. Checks do not need an envelope. Festival Choir members and "Remember Me duet" practice tomorrow. Duet sings first, so eat lunch after. Choir sings at 12:30 p.m.--you need to eat lunch first.

MTHS Drama will be conducting the life story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan this weekend. Performances are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday is a 2:00 performance. Tickets are $2 for students and $5 for adults.

Tonight is MGS at Geo's Pizza here in Metamora. Coupons were sent home with students a few weeks ago. Coupons are necessary for tonight's PTO activity, in order for the PTO to receive the 15% from Geo's. Please plan to take your families out for MGS night tonight at Geo's from 4-10p.m.
